Drugs and alcohol don't appear to be involved.  Whether the brake failure indeed occurred, and the reason behind the failure – such as a defective part or the failure of the bus company to adequately maintain the bus will undoubtedly be investigated.

This accident was the second major cash involving a tour bus in the last ten days.  Last week more than 50 people were injured on Aug. 23 when a bus headed to the San Manuel Indian Bingo and Casino overturned along Interstate 210.
